More pictures taken in Summer 1988 during the descent from the summit.

Above: The view from a descending train between the Summit and Clogwyn which can be seen on the extreme right, with an uphill train approaching and leaving a tell-tale plume of smoke. Llanberis and its lake are in the left distance.

Below: A similar view a few minutes later as the two trains approach Clogwyn.

Above: Inside the descending train. The locomotive can be seen through the far end windows.

Above: No 8 Eryri standing at Clogwyn as we pass.

Below: No 8 propels its train out of Clogwyn towards the summit.

Above: another view of No 8 leaving Clogwyn.

Below: Looking up towards the Summit from the descending train below Clogwyn No 8 appears to be lower but is in fact some 100 feet higher - the line continues to climb through Clogwyn although not quite as steeply as either side.

Above: No 5 Moel Siabod propels another uphill train out of a passing loop at Halfway.
